Positively Canine Workshops
Modern cameras have so much functionality, it can be impossible to know where to start. But if you never move off manual, you’re not getting nearly as much out of your gear as you could be.
Whilst mastering everything will take years of practice, making sure you understand the basics will have an immediate, and enormous, impact on the quality of your photography. And once you have the foundations in place, you’re free to start really letting your creative juices flow!
The Basics
We’ll spend a couple of hours indoors getting to grips with the key things you need to know to get the most out of your camera. We’ll also look at some simple photographic principals that form the foundations of taking a cracking photo:
Getting to know your Camera & Lenses
Picking the type of photo you’re aiming for
Understanding Lighting & Composition
In the Field
Weather permitting, we’ll head out into the fields and woods around the classroom to put everything you’ve learned into practice! From asking your dog to strike a pose, to perfectly capturing the moment, it’ll be your chance to develop your skills and ask any questions you still have:
Choosing your gear
Tips & Tricks
Moving vs. Static, Close-up vs. Full Frame
Reviewing & Adjusting
Editing
Almost every photo you’ve ever admired will have had some basic editing done to it. Your camera is fantastic at capturing information about what’s in front of it, but it’s not great at turning that information into a final image. With some easy-to-use editing software you’ll learn how to balance highlights and shadows, correct for any colour mismatching, and make those final cropping choices. We won’t spend too long on it, but it’ll make a massive difference!
